I was sent the information for the White Tantric that's going to be in Barcelona March 11th .Even the discount price for IKYTA is more than what it costs for the tantric in Oakland next month. WIth my IKYTA discount it's $204. for the day and a 4 hour intro. the day before which I don't need to attend since I've done many tantrics before.
In the past, prices for Kundalini events were less expensive here in Spain, because people don't earn as much here. I'm curious, how many people will attend in BCN. Most folks that I know that "make a living" teaching Kundalini, are barely getting by.
Are the prices for the tantric day the same throughout the US?
And what are prices like in other parts of the world?

Fri, January 19, 2007 - 4:10 PMIt like 140 if you register in the next couple of days then kicks up to 180
!!
And they have some gall in still mentioning Yogi Bhajan in their literature...
I think it's a bit pricey. Still determining whether I will go.

Re: White Tantric prices...
Sun, January 28, 2007 - 3:45 PMI spoke, separately to two Kundalini teacher trainers here in Spain and they both informed me that the White Tantrics are run as a profit making event. That seems soo wrong. I understand the need to cover expenses and get paid for one's time producing and promoting, but that it is or can be run just like any other profit making business seems very wrong to me.
I wonder what Yogiji would have to say. He was an excellent businessman too, but I wanted to think he kept the teachings and business separate.
And Verseau, I do understand why he is mentioned in the literature, it's his combinations of kriyas, video explanations and he chose all the music (that hopefully someday will be changed)and most importanted no Mahan White tantric leader has made themself known, if there is a living one now. I do believe Yogi Bhajan is still connected to the group through the energy of the facilitator. -

Re: White Tantric prices...
Mon, January 29, 2007 - 3:51 AMSada Sat Kaur sent me the Italian Kundalini Association's website. The Tantric there is 120 euros, that's $155. And also either 38 or 50 euros less expensive than the tantric here in Barcelona. .... Does anyone here have price information for other countries or places the US? -

Re: White Tantric prices...
Mon, January 29, 2007 - 5:00 AMI've seen them at around $140-$150 in the States. The good thing is that the prices don't seem to have gone up significantly in the past 10-15 years. If I recall, they have ranged between $120-$135 in the past

Hope this helps.

Re: White Tantric prices...
Wed, February 7, 2007 - 4:26 PMSat Nam. I just became aware of these posts and questions regarding White Tantric Yoga today. I worked with Yogi Bhajan to create the videos and have been serving to organize White Tantric Yoga since 1987 when we started the video taped series. Organizers of White Tantric Yoga do get guidelines regarding price structure, and we do get reports of the expenses that they incur. It is amazing how costs vary from city to city. In the States courses vary from $135.00 to $170.00 but it is all about the expenses. Often even lunch costs vary as much at 20$. In the EU where the Euro is the currency, you who live there know that from country to country the same item can be a different cost. i notice that with the International Herald Tribune newspaper!
WTY gives us an opportunity not to only grow in consciousness, but to participate by serving in the organization of it. Having a group energy in organization is another reason we can keep the price as reasonable as it is. Needless to say we do have to add costs for services and administration, but profit has never been the motivation.
Looking forward to meeting you at WTY somewhere in the world.
with love and prayers, satsimran -

White at white tantrics....
Wed, February 7, 2007 - 6:13 PMI've done about 15 days of white tantric in the past 6 years. Wearing white really does make a difference in the energy, from my experience. It's much more soothing and easier to get deep into the meditation if you are surrounded by white.
Also not just covering the head, but wearing a turban, really intensifies the experience. For me at least, I could feel more connected to the energy channeling through the crown chakra.
Sat nam,
Ln
PS Satsimran who just joined this thread/tribe/Tribe.net today is one of the if not THE living authories on Kundalini white tantric. It will be interesting to see if she has time to share more with us. She travels the world facilitating White Tantric events.
And in response to Satsimran's comment about the WTY being organized in a group in each city, I'm not sure that happened. Maybe a group a people working at 1 of the many Kundalini yoga centers in Barcelona, but I heard nothing about it at the National teacher's meeting or anywhere else for that matter. -

Re: White at white tantrics....
Wed, February 7, 2007 - 7:00 PMWhat would it matter if one was wearing white if one's eye's are closed during just about every meditation?
I don't like white. It's symbolism does not resonate with me...and it's hard to keep clean.
Black is beautiful.
I will probably get yelled at for wearing black pants but ya know, I am not going to go buy white pants.
Don't mind me: I'm a little cheeky
:P

Wed, February 7, 2007 - 8:07 PMWhere did you get the idea that your eyes are closed for all the meditations? Sometimes, but most of the time you are looking into your partners eyes. One can feel the vibration of the colors around you.
I used to be bugged by "having to where white". For years I only wore black , red or fuscia. WHen I started my Kundalini teacher trainging Iasked friends for their old white clothes because I didn't want to spend money on clothes I wouldn't wear any other time. But as time went on , I really started to feel good in white.
I shocked friends and family, cause no one except for my yoga friends had ever seen me wearing white. Just try it. Do you really have to limit yourself to some symbolism? In India, I'm told they reserve white for funerals.
Black is beautiful, but that does mean you have to discount white?
I doubt anyone will "yell" at you for not wearing white.
Have you thought about what has attracted you to do the White tantric in the first place? Just something to think about, no need to share. -

Re: Verseau
Wed, February 7, 2007 - 8:54 PMWell, If I shouldn't be limited by some symbolism or lack thereof, why should another traditions' attachment to a symbolism resonate with me?
Aesthetically, it just ain't where it's at for me.
I guess - symbolically - I view black as an amalgam of all colors and that does have a more potent meaning to me...
It's like mixing up the palatte of the rainbow.
I like that.
So: I'll comform in 2 out of three things I'm "recommended" to wear...I have to go get some white beanie thing...I don't even know what that's called and it's white but I'll manage.
Here's a question for ya: since I'm an Aquarian and going with a couple of my friends, do you think they'll consider a more preferable and complimentary astro-frequency to pair me up with? I'm not sure an earth sign or two of the 3 water signs would be the best fit.

Re: Verseau
Thu, February 8, 2007 - 10:12 PMHi Verseau, I can understand your aesthetics; however, there are energetic reasons for wearing white and the head covering. Tantric energy is very intense, so it's important to follow the recommendations they give on what to do and wear. In KY, it is said that wearing white enhances your aura, which increases your protection, and makes your stronger and more radiant. I've found that to be true, and this coming from someone like me who years ago used to wear black all the time. Wearing a headcovering is important to protect the crown chakra and prevent getting a headache. Wearing a head covering is considered so important that the facilitator will not let the Tantric course begin until all heads are covered.
Hope this helps. I'll be there this Saturday, so if you recognize me, say hello.

I'll be the guy wearing BLACK pants and underwear and white t-shirt and white koofi or something.
You can't trick me scorpionic femaloid...!!
:P
Here's my "logic" and yes I understand the energetic beliefs
Ok, like, so:
If you're outside on a summer day wearing black you are probably sweating becasue you are absorbing the sun's energy rather than reflecting it.
Obviously, if you are wearing white, you are reflecting the sun's energy.
Now...here's that "logic" bit I was chewing on:
See, we need the sun's energy and we need to absorb, process and integrate it as it's from our galaxy and it's good (especially for boys). Wearing black enhances this ability and responsibility.
Now, it seems to me that if one is wearing white on a summer day, those folks are merely reflecting the sun's energy rather than absorbing an integrating it into their being for transmission to other. While it does have some benefit, it doesn't seem to be nearly as effective in supporting our efforts. Plus, if you wear white, itbounces back up into yours eyes, blinding you and burning your retinas and is potentially carcinogenic.
As far as further symbolism is concerned, isn't there always some false duality aboutl Light and Dark; Good and Bad, etc that sometimes seems pervasive?
Personally, I don't believe black should be symbolic of the darkness.
And finally, it is my understanding that young sikhs wear colored turbans as their energy patterns are blaring very intensely all over the place and need to be contained and "controlled."
So, even though I'm straight as the day is long, I'm more of a rainbow flag kind guy, incluidng having a complicated but clear preference for that lovely darker area of the spectrum...
But that confusing light and pigment as has been explained to me.
So THERE!
:)

Fri, February 9, 2007 - 10:16 AMI am grateful for Satsimran Kaur taking the time to look into the matter I brought up when I started this thread, the price of the White tantric in Barcelona.
She's informed me that the price, which was the most expensive of anywhere in the world that had information listed online, will be reduced.
I'm looking forwarded to recieving the acknowledgment of that change from sources here in Spain. And also looking forward to participating of the tantric with more of the Spanish Kundalini sangat.

HOWEVER
She also had a very, very beautiful, differently woven black one that goes with everything I have...and that I loved.
same low price.
But the price of conformity is steeper than the sticker price.

White Tantric lunches...
Mon, February 19, 2007 - 5:13 PMSat nam,
You are were so helpful sharing information about tantric prices around the US. Next questions for you
.Was lunch included in the price of the tantric you participated in?
What did you have for lunch?
Were you allowed to bring your own lunch?
I found out part of the reason the Tantric in Barcelona is so expensive is because the organizers chose a Hotel whose resturant is charging 30 euros for the lunch, that's a little over $39.00. I'm wondering what will be served.
I don't remember what the lunch was when I did the tantric in LA in 2001. But for the last 5 years at the Festival in France we get a veggie burger.
Thanks for sharing your information with me.

Wed, February 21, 2007 - 10:04 AMI would think you could bring whatever you want.
We had:
A mung bean warm meal concoction that was simply outstanding
organic salad
Some sort of saucy stuff kinda like tzatziki
tortillas
ginger cookies
and yogi tea throughout the day.
Apparently it was catered by a small local outfit that is involved in community.

Re: White Tantric lunches...
Wed, February 4, 2009 - 6:57 PMSat nam,
Two years ago many of you helped me research prices for the transformative day of white tantric that occur all over the world. The last time we had a white tantric in Barcelona, it was the most expensive one in the world, that year. Sadly, I think it's happening again. The tantric here is $182.
A friend that just attended the White Tantric in London told me it was $123.00 there and folks were saying it was too expensive.
I know the experience is priceless. I've had the good fortune to attend at least 20 tantrics days (mostly at the yoga festival in France). There are Kundalini teachers here in Spain that are working towards making the event affordable for all. As it is, many of the people that make their living teaching kundalini can't afford to attend. There are work exchanges, I've applied for one. But the whole process of how one gets chosen is a mystery too.
So, if you have any information on white tantric prices, would you please share it here.
Many thanks,
Ln
