Hi everyone,
I'm still coming down from White Tantric this past weekend ... following it up with a 40-day sadhana of nabhi kriya. Right now I've got LOTS of heat moving now through my torso and organs, more than I've experienced in the past. And I'm wondering what to do about it.
On the one hand, part of me feels I should do cooling practices, like sitali pranayam and eat cooling foods. The other part of me wonders if I should not interfere and just ride the sensations out, letting the tapas do its thang without lowering it.
Any thoughts on what is best?

regarding the technical aspect maybe someone more experienced might be able to tell.but one thing is for sure just ask mother kundalini to take over, and take care cause she knows the best.really.

Re: How do you handle excess heat?
Tue, April 22, 2008 - 7:23 AMWas it the White Tantric in Los Angeles 10 days ago or the one in Chicago last weekend?
If it's been more than 7-10 days, you may want to do Sitali pranayam or whatever you need to cool down. Otherwise give it a few more days and then decide. -

Tue, April 22, 2008 - 8:52 AMwisely said, prateek, and so true. thanks for that answer.
geo, thank you, too. it was the chicago wty last weekend (which was really uplifting and joyful btw). yogi bhajan really touched me with the things he said.
so yes, it's only been a few days. today the heat's balancing out a bit, though i'm still feeling it a lot in my kidneys, which are downright achey. that was what prompted me to post. so i guess i'll ride it out, drink lots of water and see where i land. :-)

When that happens I have to stay away from electrical devices, as I fry them , so if I have the space ( and distance from all my laboratory equipment) to ride the sensations i do, otherwise deep relaxation exercises in the dead pose to cool things down, having transcend visions in a business meeting is not usually good:-)
But celebrate with you in this marvelous journey, of finding our inner light.
go sacred soul go

i do not want to be in any type of false debate as i am facing here.
but truly speeking as per my experience as you did nabhi kriya it is directly related to awakening of your solar chakra and it is really very intnsive heating the day and night.
i felt its heat for four to four and half years contineously.
do not affraid it is really good sign and i am glad that you are awakening.
this nabhi chakra is the base of all other lower and upper chakra and helpfull in kundalini awalening.
cheers
its my experience.

Re: How do you handle excess heat?
Sat, May 3, 2008 - 10:32 AMI concur, when the attention/vayu and movement are focused on the nabhi (navel) area this heat is quite natural and is a good sign. Uniting prana and apana in this area can generate intense heat and will help allow the energy to enter and rise in the central nadi. If you live up north in a place like Minnesota (where I live) this heat is quite useful even on a very mundane level ;-)
Hope your practice goes well,
Ryan

Re: How do you handle excess heat?
Tue, April 29, 2008 - 6:15 AMMost actual Kundalini Masters that I know use scented flowers in a garland around the neck. That is one of the main reasons you see Gurus wearing flowered garlands. Something sweet to eat after such a meditative experience also works, but the flowers are the best.
My Swamis when I do darshan and shaktipat make sure that there are fragrant flowers next to me and a scented flower mala around my neck....the Guru feels the heat also.
I welcome you with great love and great respect.
